What is BSides

BSidesNoVA inaugural conference in Northern Virginia is part of world-wide series called Security BSides(http://www.securitybsides.com/w/page/50746315/BSidesHistory).

BSides is a “community-driven framework for building events for and by information security community members. The goal is to expand the spectrum of conversation beyond the traditional confines of space and time.  It creates opportunities for individuals to both present and participate in an intimate atmosphere that encourages collaboration. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. It is where conversations for the next-big-things are happening.”

BSidesNoVA is a Cyber Security un-conference that will be hosted at Center for Innovative Technology in Herndon, VA on Saturday, February 25th, 2017 and will be attended by nearly 400 industry professionals and students. Over 50 speakers will cover topics ranging from the state of the cybersecurity industry to bleeding edge research on vulnerabilities, exploits, protection, and response. The featured keynotes, speakers and panels are on our website at http://www.bsidesnova.org/speakers/. In addition to the talks, multiple activities will be available to conference attendees such as a Capture-the-Flag event which challenges attendees to defeat security controls, a series of Malware, Forensic and SOC Fundamentals Workshops as well as Challenges in Wireless Hacking, Soldering and Lock-Picking. The conference will conclude with Happy Hour Event including a Final Keynote and an Entrepreneurship Panel hosted in the CIT Building Atrium which will aim to promote innovation in the local security and start up community.

We’re a 100% volunteer organized event, put on by and for the community, and we strive to keep information free.
